Dadaocheng(大稻埕) and Dihua Street(迪化街) are about a 15-minute walk from the Railway Department. It’s an old town area in Taipei with a strong nostalgic atmosphere. Dadaocheng has traditional Chinese medicine stores, snack shops, cafes, restaurants, and designer goods stores.
Those who are troubled by love can visit the Xia Hai City God Temple(霞海城隍廟) to pay respects to Yue Lao(月老), the Chinese deity of love and marriage, and pray for a blissful romantic relationship.

Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology is an important base for promotion of archaeology in north Taiwan. When visiting the museum, people naturally learn the local cultural stories of New Taipei City and Taiwan.
The parts of the Museum that prove most popular with the public have been the “Whale Dune Observation Platform” and the angular irregular “Archaeological Octagon Tower”. These buildings are so distinctive that they received first place in the 2002 “Taiwan Architecture Prize,” and outstanding design in the 2003 “Far Eastern Architect Awards”.

【Tamsui Old Street (淡水老街)】
Tamsui is the old town area in New Taipei City, featuring historic sites like Fort San Domingo and Tamsui Cultural Park. There are faithfully traditional pastry shops, groceries and stores selling trendy outfits and toys. The popular foods in the area include A Gei(阿給), fish ball, fried fish crackers, traditionally baked cake, Granny’s iron eggs, etc. are all must try goodies. In the evening, the beautiful scenery of the sun setting below the ocean horizon can be seen along the golden anchor walkway.
To get from Shihsanhang Museum to Tamsui Old Street, one must cross the Tamsui River by the ferry. The closest pier to the Shihsanhang Museum is the Bali Left Bank Pier, and the nearest pier to Tamsui Old Street is the Tamsui Pier.
